National Hotel Chain Begins Roll-Out, Works with ArtSource to Develop Guestroom Art
Challenge: Beginning in 1996 and continuing through 1998, Extended Stay America (ESA) and ArtSource worked together to develop a guestroom art package to use as ESA began their national roll-out throughout the U.S. Since several art pieces were selected for each room suite (over beds, desk, in kitchen), budget was of prime importance. As well, tight scheduling was needed to ensure hitting delivery dates so openings would not be delayed.

		Solution: ArtSource worked with one of its moulding suppliers to develop a customized frame specifically for the ESA projects. This walnut frame with a gold lip was stained to match the hotel casegoods but was able to be fabricated in larger quantities for half the price of regular moulding. Likewise, through guaranteed purchasing agreements, artwork and other components were brought in at steeply discounted pricing. During the term of the contract, ArtSource shipped over 17,000 framed pictures to over 85 facilities nationwide. We worked closely with ESA personnel on timed, updated completion schedules, and also maintained pre-framed standing inventory at HQ. With this measures, we achieved 100% on-time delivery, resulting in no delays in hotel openings during the run of the contract.
